AlpacaRelay + WordPress: Quality-Scored Emails, Connected

Start by signing up for AlpacaRelay at no cost—no credit card required. Visit the AlpacaRelay homepage and click Sign Up. Enter your email, create a password, and verify your email address. You'll be taken to your dashboard immediately. This step ensures you have a dedicated workspace where all your WordPress data will flow and where your quality-scored emails will be generated. Your account is now ready to receive data from WordPress.

Once logged in, navigate to Settings > Integrations > API Keys. Click Generate New Key. AlpacaRelay will create a unique API key specific to your account. Copy this key to your clipboard—you'll paste it into WordPress next. This key is what allows WordPress and AlpacaRelay to communicate securely. Never share this key publicly; treat it like a password. If you ever suspect it's been compromised, you can regenerate a new one from this same menu.

In your WordPress admin dashboard, go to Plugins > Add New. Search for AlpacaRelay. Click Install Now, then Activate. Once activated, a new menu item AlpacaRelay will appear in your WordPress sidebar. Click it to open the plugin settings. Paste your API key from Step 2 into the API Key field. Select the data you want to sync: subscriber lists, user registrations, WooCommerce customers (if you use WooCommerce), form submissions, and engagement events. WordPress will begin syncing this data to AlpacaRelay in real-time via webhooks, with zero performance impact on your site.

Return to AlpacaRelay and go to Data > Contacts. You'll see your WordPress data imported and organized by contact type. Review the mapped fields—name, email, signup date, post category subscriptions, comment history, and any custom fields you configured in WordPress. Create your first audience segment by clicking New Segment. For example, create a segment of Entertainment subscribers who haven't engaged in 30 days, or VIP commenters on your film review posts. These segments become the foundation for quality-scored campaigns. The mapping is automatic, but you can customize field names and rules here.

Click Campaigns > Create Campaign. Select your audience segment and choose a template or start from scratch. Use AlpacaRelay's AI to generate a subject line and email body tailored to your Entertainment audience. Before sending, the email is automatically scored across the 8-Dimension Email Quality Framework—Deliverability, Mobile Render, CTA Clarity, Personalization Depth, Visual Hierarchy, Copy Effectiveness, Brand Consistency, and Structural Compliance. Your email must reach an EQS (Email Quality Score) of 7/10 or higher to send. If it scores lower, AlpacaRelay highlights which dimensions need improvement. Once your email reaches 7+, click Send. Your first quality-scored campaign is now live to your WordPress audience, and real-time engagement data flows back into your dashboard.
