How to Connect AlpacaRelay to Zapier
Create Your AlpacaRelay Account
Visit alpacarelay.com and sign up for a free account. No credit card required. You'll receive instant access to the dashboard, where you can begin setting up integrations immediately. This account serves as your central hub for all connected platforms and email quality scoring workflows. Once logged in, navigate to Settings in the main menu.
Authorize Zapier via OAuth
In Settings, select Integrations and find Zapier in the list. Click Connect. You will be redirected to Zapier's OAuth authorization screen, where you'll grant AlpacaRelay permission to read contacts, events, and custom fields from Zapier workflows. This is a read-only connection by default—AlpacaRelay accesses the data Zapier passes to it but cannot modify Zapier workflows. Authorization completes in under 60 seconds. Once approved, you'll return to AlpacaRelay with a confirmation message.
Map Your Zapier Data Fields
After OAuth approval, you'll see a field-mapping interface. Here, you select which Zapier triggers and data points (lead source, user behavior, email address, company name, subscription tier, sign-up date, etc.) AlpacaRelay should import. For SaaS workflows, common mapped fields include user ID, email, onboarding status, feature adoption depth, usage frequency, and account creation date. You can map as few or as many fields as your Zapier setup provides. This step typically takes 3-5 minutes and is repeatable—you can adjust mappings anytime without breaking existing flows.
Create Your First Quality-Scored Email
With data flowing in, return to the Campaigns section and click New Campaign. Select Zapier as your audience source. AlpacaRelay will display all mapped contact segments. Choose your audience segment (e.g., 'Free trial users in week 1' or 'Inactive for 30+ days'). Write your email subject and body, or use AlpacaRelay's AI email generator to create a draft in seconds. Before sending, every email is automatically scored across the 8-Dimension Email Quality Framework—Deliverability, Mobile Render, CTA Clarity, Personalization Depth, Visual Hierarchy, Copy Effectiveness, Brand Consistency, and Structural Compliance. Your Email Quality Score (EQS) appears as a summary score out of 10, with dimension-by-dimension feedback.
Review Quality Scoring & Send
Review your EQS report before sending. The system highlights any dimension scoring below 7/10 and offers AI-powered suggestions to improve it. For example, if your CTA is unclear, the system recommends specific rewording. If your subject line tests low for personalization, it suggests dynamic field insertion. Most SaaS campaigns achieve EQS 8+/10 with these recommendations. Once satisfied, schedule or send immediately. AlpacaRelay monitors deliverability post-send and reports inbox placement rates and engagement metrics in real-time. Zapier data continues to sync, feeding new contacts into your audience segment automatically.
