How to Connect AlpacaRelay to Salesforce
Create Your AlpacaRelay Account
Start by signing up for a free AlpacaRelay account at alpacarelay.com. No credit card is required to begin. During signup, you'll create your workspace and choose your industry vertical (ecommerce, SaaS, B2B services, etc.). This initial setup takes approximately 2 minutes. Once your account is active, you'll land in your dashboard where you can immediately access the Integrations menu. Keep your Salesforce login credentials handy—you'll need them in the next step to authorize the connection.
Navigate to Salesforce Integration & Authorize OAuth
In your AlpacaRelay dashboard, go to Settings > Integrations > Salesforce. Click the Connect to Salesforce button. You'll be redirected to Salesforce's OAuth authorization screen. Log in with your Salesforce admin credentials. AlpacaRelay requests permission to: read Contacts and Accounts, read Lead records, read Opportunities, read custom fields, and write to Salesforce objects for sync verification. These permissions allow AlpacaRelay to access your customer data and send back engagement metrics. After you click Authorize, you'll be redirected back to AlpacaRelay with a confirmation message. The OAuth connection is one-way authenticated—Salesforce tokens refresh automatically, so you won't need to re-authenticate.
Map Salesforce Data Fields to AlpacaRelay
Once OAuth is authorized, AlpacaRelay automatically detects your Salesforce schema. You'll see a data mapping interface showing your standard fields (First Name, Last Name, Email, Phone) and any custom fields you've created (e.g., Customer LTV, Industry, Product Interest). Review the mappings and confirm which fields AlpacaRelay should pull into the platform. For ecommerce use cases, ensure you map: Email Address, Contact First/Last Name, Account ID, Last Purchase Date, Total Order Value, and any custom segmentation fields (e.g., loyalty tier, product category interest). You can add or remove fields at any time. Click Save Mapping. Data sync begins immediately via webhook—Salesforce pushes contact updates to AlpacaRelay in near real-time as records are created or modified.
Create Your First Quality-Scored Email Campaign
With data now flowing from Salesforce, create your first email. In the Campaigns section, click New Campaign. Select your use case—for ecommerce, options include Welcome Series, Abandoned Cart Recovery, Post-Purchase Follow-Up, or Win-Back Engagement. AlpacaRelay's AI generates a campaign template populated with Salesforce data: personalized greetings, dynamic product recommendations based on purchase history, and contextual CTAs. You can edit the template, swap in your brand colors and logo, and customize the message. Before sending, you'll preview how the email renders on mobile and desktop. The system also performs a quality check at this stage, flagging any structural issues or deliverability risks.
Activate Quality Scoring & Deploy
Before you hit Send, every email runs through AlpacaRelay's 8-Dimension Email Quality Framework (EQF). This analyzes your campaign across Deliverability (SPF/DKIM compliance, list hygiene), Mobile Render (responsive design on iOS and Android), CTA Clarity (button size, contrast, link structure), Personalization Depth (dynamic content relevance), Visual Hierarchy (image-to-text ratio, scanability), Copy Effectiveness (subject line persuasiveness, body clarity), Brand Consistency (logo placement, color accuracy), and Structural Compliance (authentication protocols, footer requirements). Your email receives an Email Quality Score (EQS) out of 10. Campaigns scoring EQS 8+ are marked as production-ready. If your score is below 8, AlpacaRelay highlights which dimensions need improvement—for example, if CTA buttons are too small, it suggests a fix. Once you approve, click Send. The email deploys to your Salesforce contacts immediately. Engagement metrics (opens, clicks, replies) flow back into Salesforce automatically, creating a feedback loop that informs your next campaign.
